Hello! I'm Katherine - illustrator / graphic designer behind Rive Gauche Craft, & stylist / curator of StyleMachine.
Stylemachine is my playground for exploring the lovely, the strange, and the stylish, telling you how to dress, slobbering over handsome digs and outrageous art, and posting my latest illustrations and design projects.
When I'm not creating print and web material for Rive Gauche Craft or blogging about my latest obsession, I'm definitely digging through a bin of vintage shoes at a thrift shop. Or jamming out at a metal show. Or cuddled up with my cranky cat, sifting through Netflix in the never ending pursuit of the ultimate horror movie.
A petite history:
I studied graphic design, painting, and art history in school, and earned a BFA degree in Fashion Design. I also worked as a stylist in New York City for several years, and interned at the design offices of Derek Lam and Calvin Klein Women's Collection under Francisco Costa.
Since then, I've been interested in exploring design, fashion, and art from a cumulative point of view at my studio in South Carolina. I recently opened two online shops, and I'm currently in the process of launching the newest feature of Rive Gauche Craft - custom illustration and design for web, blogs, and print!
