Laid Back Luxe

luxurious relaxed style and favorite wardrobe staples for March 2013

A petite roundup of super cozy things that retain a pulled together effect, perfect for a season between seasons, and limitless in their wearability.  Not quite hippie, not quite western, but not quite polished either.  Inconspicuous, luxuriously relaxed soon-to-be-favorites, and timeless (age-less!) wardrobe staples
Don't you have that one item that you spent just a little too much on, and have found yourself practically living in it over the years?
Mine is a heap of gorgeous shoes.  Oh, my bad, that's more than one thing.  But I'm dead serious when I tell you that I rarely ever shoe shop anymore because of this glorious (small) mountain I carefully compiled while living in NYC.  Rather than go shopping when my beloved pairs wear thin, I religiously take them to the cobbler - who magically repairs all the damage I've done to them every year.  I hardly even want new shoes.  I just want my favorite, timeless, well-made and well-cared-for, signature wardrobe staples.

    1. Angie, I'm kind of impressed by myself too? Hah! I won't lie, it was pretty hard at first! But i think the fact that when i did buy shoes, I bought good shoes - not h&m or forever21 - really helped. They last longer and you don't get sick of them as fast, you know?

  4. UGH! Both the clutch and the cross body bag are AMAZING. I hear you on the good shoes thing..I have trouble splurging on flats especially. I always buy cheap flats and NEVER end up wearing them. No problem dropping a couple hundos on some fresh heels or boots though!

    1. I know right? Flats - they can be so irresistibly cheap, it's hard to say no. My fave place for real leather flats (and loads of other things too) is Zara - kind of mid/low priced, and they'll last forever if you take them to get an extra layer of rubber applied to the bottom as soon as you buy them. Learned that trick from a dude. Go figure!

    1. i have completely turned this (awesome!) comment into a strange quest for self-blog-revelation. Gone back through my posts, reading every word, thinking "Am I true to myself? Was that the sentence I wrote that does it? What does it mean in the context of the universe to be true to one's self?"

I have to stop drinking coffee at night. a;sdlfkj

Thank you for the lovely thought!

  6. I love so many things about this post! It's very eye catching and I really enjoy your writing style. Thank you for your message on IFB! It's very motivating to see someone who is pursuing their career in the Fashion Industry. I'm currently a junior studying Fashion Marketing and Management and I can't wait to get out there and start working the industry. It's motivating to see someone else doing it. Keep living your dreams!
